We are currently recruiting for Director, Business Development and Corporate Relations to work in the Office of the Principal, Glendon College for this exciting permanent opportunity. You will bring proven experience managing a revenue-generating educational enterprise. Experience in developing cross-border relationships and partnerships and major account management an asset.
Glendon’s new strategic plan has identified experiential education for its students and bilingual continuing education and professional development for adult learners in the GTA, nationally and internationally as key areas of development. Reporting to the Executive Director, Government, Institutional and International Relations (GIIR), the Director, Business Development and Corporate Relations (BDCR) is responsible for developing strategies to increase revenue year over year through marketing, communications, sales, customer and stakeholder relations.
The Director, BDCR is responsible for the development, management, implementation, evaluation and marketing of professional development and corporate training programs at the Glendon campus. He or she is responsible for all touch points that a prospective professional development student, non-credit student or corporate client may have with Glendon. Additionally, the Director is responsible for developing strategic relations with community organizations and corporations in order to secure experiential education opportunities for Glendon students and career opportunities for Glendon new graduates and alumni. The Director plans and executes communication and public relations activities on behalf of Glendon to internal university and external audiences. The Director will provide strategic advice to the Executive Director, GIIR related to the planning of new education programs to meet market demand at the local, national and international levels. In this capacity, the Director will work closely with Glendon’s Executive Team as well as colleagues at York’s School of Continuing Education and the Office of the Vice-President Academic and Provost. The Director, BDCR is expected to represent the Executive Director on various committees and task forces at the university, provincial, national and international levels.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will possess:
A minimum of 7 years’ management experience in leadership and corporate training including business and partnership development, program design and contract/agreement development and negotiation. The incumbent is expected to have some experience managing staff and vendors. Preference is given to management experience in a unionized environment. Digital marketing and corporate communication experience would be an asset. Enrolment management experience with strategies, standards and evaluation of strategies at each stage of the enrolment funnel. Customer Relationship Management experience creating and implementing customer service standards and processes and CRM software. Proven track record of developing and maintaining successful community partnerships. A superior record of generating new business and building/maintaining client relationships in existing and new market sectors is required; Hands-on experience moving programs from inception to completion, and knowledgeable in every phase of work from marketing research to strategy development, to objective setting, performance management, to budget setting, monitoring and maintenance; Experience in new client identification and relationship development/maintenance in the domestic and, in particular, international arenas.
